LUMIANO
The Lumiano is a piano that lights up as it is played. Each key of the piano is attached to a strike bar that is wired to 88 individual lights with human touch it create a luminesce effect. There are 12 pinwheels that top the framework of the sculpture. A musical score entitled “Pinwheel Music” was written by Brooklyn composer Andy Cohen for those who read music but players are invited to play their favorite piano work or channels one’s own inner John Cage.
